900 new Midlands jobs thanks to Amazon

In these days of mass unemployment and poor economy performance, the recent news that Internet retailer Amazon intend to create 900 new jobs in the Midlands has been welcomed with great optimism. The jobs will be created at a new processing centre in Rugeley, and they will be taking on staff by September. Staffordshire escorts say this is great for the local area, and is a superb opportunity for many unemployed people to get back into work.
This also seems to be a long-term move by Amazon as they have signed a 15 year lease of a very large warehouse facility just off the A5 13. This warehouse is one of the largest in Staffordshire and is found close to the town's power station.
The vice president of Amazon has declared that this new distribution plant will be handling orders from customers all over the world. Local MP Aidan Burley is quoted as saying that this will be a huge boost for Rugeley and the surrounding area.
Amazon seems committed to having the plant up and running in time for Christmas which is also great news for future employees of the company. With 900 people being able to find work, this will obviously be a big boost financially in time for the Christmas season.
Much of the economic downturn in the Cannock Chase area can be traced back to the closure of the area's mines in the early 1990s. Many locals believe that the area never really got back on its feet since then, and news like this is very welcome indeed.
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce has also declared itself very happy with this news and believes that this new distribution centre will provide more than the 900 jobs specified. This is because various infrastructure related positions will be created in order to create a whole new logistical network around the area.
